Region 6 Map

Welcome to the American Mensa - Region Six Web Site.

American Mensa - Region Six, encompassing the Southwest region of the United States, includes Arkansas, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.  Our Regional Vice Chair is Dan Wilterding.

American Mensa has more than 47,000 members in over 140 local chapters.

Mensa, the High IQ Society, is an international organization whose only membership requirement is a score in the top two percent of the general population on a standardized intelligence test.  It was founded in Great Britain in 1946.  Mensa currently boasts about 95,000 members in over 100 countries, organized into 41 national groups.

In Mensa, members can meet other stimulating members, join one of the over 150 special interest groups, and attend local, national, and international events.  Mensa encourages and supports programs for gifted children, sponsors research into the nature of intelligence and awards thousands of dollars in scholarships each year.
